Welcome to the homepage of the International Society for Monitoring Molecules in Neuroscience. The mission of the Society is to provide a platform to facilitate the development and refinement of methods for time-resolved detection of chemicals in the living brain. The Society provides governance for the International Conference on In Vivo Methods which was first established in Nottingham, UK in 1982. Historically, the conference has been an important forum for progress and standardization of methodology for the neurochemical monitoring. Indeed, regular attendees of the conference include many of the pioneers of in vivo microdialysis, voltammetry and biosensors. In addition, as the meeting has evolved, it has taken on a substantial emphasis on state-of-the-art applications of neurochemical techniques ranging from studies conducted in single cells to those in living humans.

The Society is composed of general membership, an elected advisory committee and an organizing committee. The organizing committee is formed by an elected chair and is responsible for hosting the forthcoming International Conference on In Vivo Methods.
